First things first, who am I and what does Sovereign Surfer even mean?
Here’s the deal…
I’ve been living in Nicaragua for the last almost four years with my family, where we relocated to from Texas during the pandemic madness. I’m writing this from our Yoga deck, overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean, where I can see the surf from our backyard atop the hill , with a sweeping view of the coastline and even Costa Rica to the South. It’s a pretty epic spot that I’m so grateful to call home base.
For the last few years I’ve been hanging with my family friends all the while doing the things I love. I Surf 🏄♂️, play pickleball, basketball, Kickbox, Hike the mountains and through the jungle here , in essence getting into the best shape of my life at 53 years young (as of Today my 53rd Birthday, June 7, 2024)
And often just lay and chill in the hammock beside our pup at my feet…. Livin a really good life! 🤙🏼
If a picture is worth a 1000 words (at least 997 last I checked ) …

In those moments (usually in the hammock ) Several thoughts occur to me…
“ What should I do with the next chapter of my life?”
“What’s my true calling, purpose, what am I truly on this earth to do in this life?”
“Should I put myself out there and if so… WHY and How?”
And the most distinct being these days…
to share HOW this even came To be?!
See, it may be that I am livin the dream today, yet not so many years ago….
My life used to SUCK!
it was a real struggle in so many ways, the tires/wheels were literally falling off in my life
(Not my proudest moment, this is me holding one of the tires to my JEEP with a boot on it , as I could not afford to pay the fine to have it removed and needed to get to work so I took it off 😙. And let’s not even talk about those sandals lol definitely not my finest moment☺️)
I definitely know what it’s like to struggle
I know what it’s like to have more month than money and constantly stressed about bank overdraft charges
Oh, I know what it’s like to worry about putting food on the table for your kids. I’ll never forget the time I had to scrounge change from around my efficiency apartment and my car just to buy my young daughter (at the time ) a Cici’s Pizza buffet
I can so relate and remember constantly being worried about money and what I was going to do to pay the bills
And yes, I even know what it’s like to be evicted from my apartment, twice actually.
In fact, I even know what it’s like to be homeless (thanks to some really awful decisions and a false sense of pride, aka shame)
Gratefully today I can say I also know what it’s like to earn more money in a month that I ever used to earn in a year(s)!
To eat some of the most exquisite food at the best restaurants around the world and not have to read the menu starting with the price
To have the peace of mind knowing that all the bills are paid before the month even starts with plenty of surplus to do some pretty cool things, including traveling the world 🌎 with my family, creating magical moments and memories
and I know what it feels like to live in a dream home (both in the big city and at the beach) , drive the Dream vehicles (including a Tesla S 100) and even charter a private jet 🛩️ with my family and pup (which we did in fact, for example when we relocated to Nicaragua)
My story is really one of Dream (I’ve always been a big dreamer), Struggle (I’ve struggled most of my life financially) and Victory (and that Success has been more like the 20 year “overnight success” story in business and entrepreneurship) #DreamStruggleVictory
Today , I’m so grateful to say and humbly share that we are pretty much livin’ the dream here at the beach enjoying a life of absolute time, location and financial FREEDOM.
I'm a FREE MAN, a Sovereign being whose top value in life is FREEDOM!
And Surfing 🏄♂️ represents the ultimate expression of my freedom, thus the Sovereign Surfer!
I do not share any of this to brag, “look at ME!” , or to impress you
But rather to impress upon you No matter what your current story is…
You can Live a Better Story!
Life does not have to be a struggle
In fact, I believe it’s our birthright to be Healthy, Happy, Prosperous and Abundant
It’s only through default (and forgetting who we are and truly realizing our own worth )that we struggle.
It’s absolutely doable to Live a better story, with your life , create a great one that you absolutely Love…that’s also Fun and Fulfilling!
It’s totally possible.
For anyone!
How do I know ?
I’m living proof!
Noo So after contemplating what I want to do with the rest of my life and with the encouragement and even ‘nudging’ from friends, business associates, mentors and family
Coupled with my passion for people, life and the human condition, family, travel, epic experiences, health and wellness (with a focus on longevity), entrepreneurship, creating value and making a difference in the world.
I decided to put myself out there by launching this website as it would allow me to connect with like-minded, like-hearted people who are looking to write ✍️ a better story with their lives!
My motto and life philosophy is,
“Make friends and help your friends”
and …
“Leave people better than you found them.”
I am on a BIG mission in life to help as many like-minded individuals, Moms, Dads and Families to enjoy more Freedom in their lives.
It all centers around the idea of living a Better Story.
To live a Better Life and be better in all areas of life.
Why not Live a Great Story!?
After achieving a pretty uncommon level of Success through the discovery of a very unique and powerful business model, having now earned millions of dollars and enjoying a pretty incredible lifestyle the last few years that has afforded me the luxury of pretty much being able to do whatever the heck I want… I decided that it’s time to do something again with my life.
Retirement is over-rated, and I’m not done yet!
I’ve got so much more to give and do.
Hopefully, through some of my life lessons and experience, along with my contacts, resources, and growing network coupled with the tools you get from here , I can help lessen the learning curve and shorten the “struggle” for you on your Journey to Freedom and Sovereignty.
This new chapter of my life is themed,
“Surf and Serve ”
Today I see myself as a Freedom catalyst, connector and a guide
Helping to teach, educate, empower and inspire others to create more FREEDOM , Choice and Options in their lives (along with more Fun and Fulfillment).
I have a deep desire and stirring in my soul to make a difference, sharing a message of Hope and offering solutions
And Know this …
YOU already have everything you need within you to succeed…
you are worthy and deserving…
You are Enough!
And it took me a long time to actually believe this about myself, but I know today that it’s actually true, both for me and for you.
I am no guru and I certainly don’t have it all figured out. But I have figured out enough to live the life I always dreamed of and one of my greatest passions today is helping others to do the same , helping the person I used to be.
I am simply your guide and catalyst in assisting you to experience and live a better life , live a better story.
I am here to serve and by your side on this journey to achieve “Uncommon Success” and a life well lived!
